Ukraine’s Defense Forces hold back Russian offensive in east and advance in south – General Staff report

Ukrainian defenders are holding back the Russian offensive on the Kupiansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are maintaining their offensive on the Melitopol and Berdiansk fronts.

DETAILS: During the day, Russian forces conducted 30 missile and 48 air strikes, carried out 32 attacks using multiple-launch rocket systems on the positions of Ukrainian troops and on settlements. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, civilians have been killed and wounded, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure facilities have been destroyed.
A total of 30 combat clashes took place during the day.
The operational situation on the Volyn and Polissia fronts remains much the same as before.
On the SIVERSHCHYNA and SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA fronts, Russian forces launched attacks on over 30 settlements, including Buchky, Hremiach in Chernihiv Oblast; Bobylivka, Vyshenky, Svarkove, Tymofiivka, Pavlivka in Sumy Oblast and Odnorobivka, Kozacha Lopan, Ohirtseve, Varvarivka and Khatnie in Kharkiv Oblast.
On the KUPIANSK front, Ukrainian soldiers are firmly holding defense, successfully repelling Russian attacks east of Petropavlivka in Kharkiv Oblast. Russian forces conducted airstrikes in the vicinity of Petropavlivka and Podoly in Kharkiv Oblast. Over 10 settlements, including Kamianka, Novomlynsk, Zapadne, Petropavlivka and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv Oblast, were hit by Russian artillery and mortar fire.

The Ukrainian front lines turned into a stalemate for the Russians, in line with Kiev’s grand offensive plans. The effects of clashes in the Donbass region extend from Zaporizhia to Berdyansk, Melitopol, Kherson and even Crimea. But the most important area on this highway corridor these days is the critical front line between Donetsk and Zaporizhia. In particular, the Velyka Novosilka region is the strategic terrain where the Ukrainian army has deployed western battle tanks, state-of-the-art air defense systems, elite special forces in the last few days.
The Ukrainian army paid for these efforts by liberating the Staromayorskoe settlement from the Russians. With the escape of the 247th Air Assault Regiment of the Russian army from Staromayorskoe, the perspective of the Ukrainian army in the Velyka Novosilka region broadened. The liberation of the Staromayorskoe settlement from the Russians was insufficient for Kiev’s plans. So Kiev wanted more than that.
Therefore, the Ukrainian army began to dispatch large numbers of its special forces, Challenger tanks, battleships AMX-10RC, battle monsters KIRPI and KOBRA to the east of the settlement of Staromayorskoe. Because the breathing point of the Russian troops escaping from Staromayorskoe was the Urozhaine settlement in the east of this city. But a huge Ukrainian contingent equipped with western combat vehicles was also advancing after the Russian forces fleeing from Staromayorskoe towards Urzohaine. To the south of Urozhaine are the soldiers of the 60th Motor Brigade of the Russian army.
In other words, it was expected that the Russian troops fleeing from Staromayorskoe would unite with the soldiers of the 60th Motorized Brigade in Urozhaine and respond together to the Ukrainian attacks. But the Ukrainian army brought a large contingent from Staromayorskoe to Urozhaine, as we mentioned. To the northwest of Urozhaine were the 3rd Special Purpose Regiment of the Ukrainian army, the 35th Marine Brigade and the 31st Mechanized Brigade. In the northeast of the city, the 68th Jager Brigade of the Ukrainian army, the 4th Tank Brigade and the 7th Battalion Arey military unit were located. In other words, the Ukrainians completely besieged Urozhaine with a large number of special forces and western war vehicles.
For this reason, it is thought that the Russian troops fleeing to this city and the 60th Motor Brigade of the Russian army will not be able to hold out in Urozhaine for a long time and will leave this place as well. In fact, Romanov, one of the most ardent supporters of Russian propaganda, claimed that the Russian troops in Urozhaine had at most 3 days to leave this city. In fact, Romanov’s deductions have a fair amount of truth. Because the Ukrainian army now wants to end the clashes on the critical front line of Donetsk-Zaporizhia and completely expel the Russian troops in these areas. Therefore, the Ukrainian special forces, which we talked about in the video, can start an attack action with western war vehicles in at least 3 days.
At present, the soldiers of the 60th Motor Brigade of the Russian army, rather than the Russian troops fleeing from Staromayorskoe to Urozhaine, have already begun to leave this city. In other words, the Russian soldiers fleeing towards Urozhaine will find themselves completely defenseless when they reach this city. Ultimately, these Russian military groups will flee from Urozhaine after the soldiers of the 60th Motor Brigade.
