The United States has crashed out of the Women's World Cup after losing a dramatic penalty shootout against Sweden.
The Americans created most of the chances during the match – but were foiled at key moments by Swedish goalkeeper Zećira Mušović, who made crucial stops against Lindsey Horan and Alex Morgan.
The Swedes will play Japan in the Women’s World Cup quarterfinals on Friday.

Paralluelo’s winning goal for Italy was a perfect example of how a lefty should attack the goal from the left side. A couple of touches toward the middle of the field to open the goal hen a cross back to the left foot for the rocket. A thing of beauty.
