Back in the 80’s, my sister was good friends with a lady who married a guy who worked for a US Senator of note. He impregnated her and after the birth of the little boy, came out gay. He hoped she would stay married in the sham marriage as he had political aspirations. She divorced him & he died in the 90s of AIDs.
