One of the best things growing up in the "burgh" in 60's and 70's, Mom would order a salad for me and it had fries on top.

I’ve never had a Pittsburgh salad or even heard of it but that sounds delicious. Maybe it’s because I grew up with NY garbage plate.

Primani Brothers, with their famous fries on everything signature dishes, hasn't gotten far beyond the Pittsburgh area. Four states is about their limit, I think.
Just sayin'

I’d try that. New fan of Smashburger’s skinny fries with rosemary and garlic but wish that they would cut off the natural ends. Nasty.

I recall the great steak salads at the Pittsburgh Marriott, Airport, in the 80’a/90’s.

Wish I had a good chipped ham sandwich on a hard roll. The stores where I live no longer sell chopped ham loaf, so I can’t fake chipped ham anymore by asking them to shave the chopped ham.

The Pittsburgh way…
Put fries on it.
Call it the “best”.
