This smells like something cooked up out of frustration because “something similar to this happened and the scoundrels have deprived us of proof, so let’s act like we have some” (like Dan Rather knowingly using forged “proof” about W’s National Guard service).
Would Pelosi have been in direct communication with Epps, or have even known who the government operatives were? Would whoever spoke to him have used an official phone subject to capture by archive systems and traceable back to the caller (as opposed to a burner phone)?
Strange and idiotic things happen in this world, but this is a hoax. Nancy didn’t CALL Ray Eppes. Maybe a little pillow-talk during incontinent lust on the White House lawn.
This report does smell, and perhaps it is a hoax, but I don’t trust ANY of the parties involved. Pelosi, Epps, FBI, Snopes, AP.
I’ll believe it’s a hoax when debunked by credible sources. Because it hasn’t been picked up by anyone in the past week implies it’s a hoax, BUT it’s been an incredibly newsy week and this may have escaped attention, as it has evaded my attention and other posters within.
It needs attention and examination.
Yeah, if Pelosi DID speak directly to Epps, then it would be evidence that Epps was NOT an intelligence or counterintelligence asset, because if he was, that wouldn’t ever have happened, for reasons of plausible deniability, compartmentalization, etc.
I suppose he could still be some amateur contracted by other amateurs, but it would weigh very very heavily against any notion that he worked for one of the 3-letter organizations.
