Friend wife and I intend to go to Charleston in November to acquaint ourselves with a water purification mission for Africa.

We fully intend to to search out these venues. Revolutionary War stuff, too.

If you take a tour of Ft. Sumter, make sure you take one that actually lets you land on Ft. Sumter and walk around. Many tours just circle the Fort and never land.

Downtown Charleston is a pretty big area, the Historic District or French Quarter are within walking distance of Battery Park, Rainbow Row, etc. and are what a lot of people think of as ‘downtown’.

Great place to visit, great food, but your debit cards and credit cards are going to get a workout. And take some warm clothing, it’s been fairly chilly by late Oct. when wife and I have been there.
