Actor Mark Hamill is calling on other Twitter users to boycott the site on Aug. 1 in an apparent attempt to protest Elon Musk’s ownership of the social media platform that's rebranding as "X."
"This will only be effective if EVERYONE refrains from tweeting (X-ing?) on August 1st a/k/a #TweetlessTuesday. Let's show the owner the POWER OF THE PEOPLE. Honestly, would it kill you to keep your thoughts to yourself for 1 d--- day? Read a book!" Hamill told his fans Sunday.
The "Star Wars" actor also made another call to boycott Twitter on Saturday. "Looking forward to taking a day off on #TweetlessTuesday!!!"
Hamill is one of the leading voices lashing out at Musk over his major changes to the site. He also insulted Twitter's new logo in July, sharing a picture of the "X" on the company's offices in San Francisco.
"Has everybody seen the (eXecrable) new logo?" the star wrote, making a pun on Twitter’s new name. Hamill also tweeted the hashtags "ByeByeBirdie" and "TaTaTwitter."
Hamill's most recent post attacking Musk's leadership of the platform went viral, racking up over 4.6 million views and more than 44,500 likes as of publication.
Leftist political commentator and influencer "Jo" said that she would follow Hamill "into the depths of hell," even it meant avoiding weighing in on big news.

“Death is a natural part of life. Rejoice for those around you who transform into the Force. Mourn them do not. Miss them do not. Attachment leads to jealously. The shadow of greed, that is.” — Yoda
Mark Hamill is only a star in his own mind and maybe on Twitter.
Don’t saw off the only branch you have left to sit on.
When it comes to Star Wars and how KK and such destroyed the original characters, on purpose because they dislike Lucas, I am with Mark and his views on it.
I am not with him on this.
Normally I would say he should stick to acting but he is not much of an actor.
Has-been.
So, let her follow hm to hell. No doubt they will arrive there. Why do they call these chumps influencers? Not a dang one influences me.
Mark “Has-Been” Hamill”
Ordinarily, I would tell Mr. Hamill to shut up and act, but I don’t have to. The Hollyweirdos are on strike — YAY!!!! (BTW — Has he acted in anything other than the Star Wars movies?)
Hamill is such an obnoxious pain in the ass.

LOL! I just asked my wife if she remembers Mark Hamill. She said, “Oh yeah, the olympic skater.”
This is how memorable the whole Star Wars thing is with me:
Went to the first one in 77, with a couple of gearhead buddies. We laughed and made fun of it, saying things like “who wrote this story, a 14 year old?”. And, “dogfighting in outer space hasn’t advanced past ME109s vs P51s?” Yeah, people sitting nearby didn’t like our input, lol.
But then, here I am, a guy with exceptional memory, telling people (even here on FR) I just never saw any more SW flicks after the first one. Then while laughing about my wife’s comment, we remembered going to the one where the hero got his arm cut off by the villian (she doesn’t even remember who the villian was! lol!).
Yep, ol Mark, ol buddy, (and you too Mr Lucas) you sure didn’t leave a lasting impression on the wife and I.
I love the Star Wars movies. But Hamil was about the weakest actor of the franchise.
I will say this about him, he did do a pretty good job voicing the Joker.
I’ve read that the combat scenes and the scene setups were inspired by the 1960’s “Battle of Britain” film. For instance, the opening credit scenes of BOB where the German general is reviewing the troops and HE111 bombers has a similar “look” to the scenes in Star Wars where Vader inspects the stormtroopers. Same thing with the space battle scenes— dogfighting as with ME109’s and Spitfires.
The story is supposedly based on the Japanese film “Hidden Fortress” from Kurosawa— I’ve scene that Japanese film and there are definite similarities— i.e. there are 2 Japanese peasant characters who bicker like C3PO and R2D2. There’s also a princess character, etc. Lucas apparently wanted Toshiro Mifune to play Obi Wan, but had to settle for Alec Guiness.
That doesn’t surprise me. And thanks for the comment about Me109s and Spitires. I said P51s in my comment, when I meant Spitfires, which is what I said the night my gearhead friends and I went to see SW #1.
I haven’t seen Top Gun maverick, but one of my WW2 flick addicted friends has, and said the story reminded him of “699 Squadron”.
Star Wars the first movies I enjoyed immensely. Mark Hamil himself and what he says reminds me of hemorrhoids that need removing from the body politic.
I have always been puzzled about Hollywood actors of immense wealth that spout leftist ideology. Capitalism and the public’s desire to see their talents as actors is what made them rich. If what they espouse becomes reality, do they not realize they are but useful idiots and totally disposable?
“And who will THAT inconvenience?”
Did the car accident cause brain damage or was he always this way?
When it is done to something he cares about, he saw how destructive that way of thinking was. But he learned nothing from it and the reality that is what it does to everything it touches.
I’m surprised he’s sill around. In 2002 he was a guest star on a show called “Son of the Beach” along with Lee Majors. It was a parody of “Baywatch.” Majors was 12 years older than Hamill and had to have coronary bypass surgery the next year but still looked in much better shape than Hamill
