I think it was about 69 OR 70 YEARS, when the Soviet government transferred Crimea from the Russian Soviet Federation of Socialist Republics (RSFSR) to the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (UkrSSR). Then, Ukraine leased some land for USSR to have military naval bases.

I don’t care.

In Europe you can go back 50 years and find all kinds of different borders. Also Africa.

Ukraine was killing them for being ethnic Russians.
That’s all that matters.

Funny then that when these allegedly oppressed “Russians” voted they did so for independence, and then Zelensky (who was also a native Russian-speaker).

Russian propaganda makes great use of the irredentist narrative, as did the Nazis.

There are different ways to make Russia pay.
I would use the Trump tactic. The one he used to make Mexico pay for the wall.

The 2 trillion is what Russia owes Ukraine.

“Ukraine attacked former provinces which seceded after a coup.”

Answer No. 1 : Actually, Ukraine liberated itself from a pro-russian puppet who was taking orders from Moscow. Yanukovych was also found guilty of treason because he had demanded Russian troops to intervene in Ukraine! Can you imagine that!?

Also, there is nothing wrong for Ukraine to keep all its territories. Why should it abandon many Ukrainian regions to pro-russian gangs supported by little Russian green men sent by Moscow? Why on earth should Ukraine get along with that?

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

“Russia attacked as Zelensky increased the attacks in the Donbass.”

Answer No. 2 : Zelensky can do anything he wants in his own country, especially when he has the people with him. He won the election in a historic landslide (73%)!
Why the hell did Russia meddle within Ukraine’s sovereign regions?? Russia should run its own country, instead of annexing others sovereign territories.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

“NATO is out of weapons, production capacity and plausible propaganda for “NATO superiority”.”

Answer No. 3 : Putin acted like NATO’s useful idiot. Thanks to his neocon warmongering, he propelled Sweden and Finland into NATO. It’s done now!
Tat was simply unthinkable before Putin launched his crazy war.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

“NATO threatens Russia with Ukraine joining, which means the new Russia / NATO border will likely be the Dnieper (or the historic border of Galicia).”

Answer No. 4 : NATO isn’t threatening anyone to join NATO. However... EVERYONE in Europe is fighting like hell to be accepted by NATO! So it’s the other way around.

Well Wagner is a paid by the Kremlin right?

And they tried a coup against the ones who paid them.
They shot down Russian helicopters, planes, killed many Russian technicians and pilots. So yes. Russian citizens do kill Russian citizens.

Russia attacked Ukraine without declaring war.
That makes Russia a terrorist nation.

Ukraine can do anything it wants within Ukraine. Right?
Nothing wrong in acting against pro-russian separatists helped by little Russian green men sent by Moscow.

There is everything wrong with engineering a Color Revolution and then attacking a region which does not want to live under an illegal foreign created gov’t.

Quebec flirted with secession at one point. Alberta likely will in the future. Maybe Scotland, Belgium. And then the biggest division of all, the potential future breakup of the USA.

The idea that a central state can do anything it wants to a breakaway region is odious, and they are within their rights to seek help from whoever will give it.

Whether it is Alberta, Diagalon, the New Confederacy or whatever, we have the right to break free of tyrannical central governments.

Tell me who attacked whom with the declaration of war lately. Once again, you are trying to justify real terror by fake terrorist analogies.
Macron recently stated that he doesn’t accept the coup in Niger and considers “options”.
Is business district in Paris a fair game?

“In Europe you can go back 50 years and find all kinds of different borders.”

1994:
The Budapest Memorandum assured Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. This memorandum was of 1994 was agreed to and signed by Russia, Ukraine, U.S. & Great Britain.

Under the terms of the memorandum, Ukraine agreed to give up the world’s third-largest nuclear arsenal and transfer all nuclear warheads to Russia for decommissioning. The Budapest Memorandum gave politically binding security assurances to respect its independence and sovereignty which guaranteed its existing borders.

20 years after this international agreement was agreed & signed, later czar wannabe Putin 2014 invaded Ukraine!

VIDEO WITH SUMMARIZED COMMENTARY

Reporting from Ukraine

⚠️ Watch RFU in 18+ languages: https://www.youtube.com/@RFU/channels

I am Ukrainian. My country has been invaded by Russia. In this video I will tell you what happened on the five hundred twenty second day of the war.

Day 522: Jul 30

Today there is a lot of news from the south.

FIRST of all, Ukrainian forces continued demolishing Russian military logistics and conducted a missile strike on the Crimean bridges. This time the target of the strike became the bridges in the northern part of Crimea. The Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Ukrainian forces struck the Chonhar bridge.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Ukrainians launched 12 Storm Shadow missiles and that Russians managed to intercept every single one of them. RUSSIAN ANALYSTS expressed EXTREME SKEPTICISM about such claims and asked how the Russian air defense was unable to shoot down just a couple of missiles when Ukrainians were blowing up one ammunition depot after another over the last 2 weeks.

Interestingly, RUSSIAN SOURCES still have NOT PUBLISHED any footage confirming that the bridge is intact. In turn, Russian sources reported that the traffic was stopped, and the Russian military restricted access to the Chonhar bridge. It seems like after the previous strike on the Chonhar Bridge when the locals and journalists immediately flooded the area and filmed everything from all possible angles, the Russian military took measures to react to such developments faster, and judging by the lack of footage, they implemented these measures successfully, which allowed the Defense Ministry to claim that all rockets were shot down and the bridge remained intact, DESPITE the mysterious traffic jams.

By the way, the timing of the missile strike is not accidental. If you still remember, after the strike on the road bridge in Kerch, ALL TRAFFIC went through the Zaporizhzhia region, creating traffic jams and sending a shock through the Russian logistics. Russian forces on the zero line very soon felt this shock in the form of shortages of ammunition, especially artillery shells, which to a great extent, facilitated the Ukrainian breakthroughs that we discussed over the last week.

As the traffic normalized and Russians restored partial movement on the Kerch bridge, Ukrainians struck the Crimean logistics from the other side. Such developments once again caused massive disruptions of the supply lines, as many cars and trucks now have to take a detour and hamper the movement of military supplies to the front.

On top of that, a day prior, Ukrainians conducted another Short Shadow missile strike on the 5th Russian base in Crimea. This time the target became Kremniivka, where Russians have the facilities for repairing damaged equipment.

Russian sources reported that Ukrainians used at least 3 cruise missiles, all of which reached their destination. This is already the second destroyed reparation base in Crimea, which means that the ability of Russians to substitute damaged tanks and armored fighting vehicles on the front will suffer a lot.

Moreover, two days ago, explosions were reported [in the temporarily occupied] Sevastopol, Crimea. Later, the Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate reported that SABOTEURS set explosives against a Russian ammunition depot in Kozacha Bay near Sevastopol. And it looks like it’s true because locals reported primary and secondary detonations.

TODAY Ukrainians also conducted a drone strike. Russian sources reported that the scale of the strike was quite small because Ukrainians launched just 3 drones. RUSSIAN ANALYSTS WARNED that this marks the beginning of the preparation for the next large-scale drone strike. The analysts pointed out that Ukrainians launched these 3 drones from DIFFERENT airfields, which means that Ukrainians are testing Russian air defense to identify the weak spots.

In the meantime, the Russian Fleet is trying to assert its presence in the Black Sea to prevent commercial ships from entering Ukrainian harbors and effectively block the export of whatever grain was left after the Russian strikes. INTERESTINGLY, the Russian ships immediately started suffering from the attacks of marine kamikaze drones.

Russian sources reported that one of their warships was attacked by 2 drones. Even though the ship reportedly remained intact, such strikes increase the risk of losing more ships, actively discouraging Russians from more aggressive movement and confirm that Ukrainian forces are still exerting some control over the Black Sea and limiting Russian mobility.

The propaganda is strong with these, expect to see a picture of Putin sitting on the right of God soon if not already….

The comments about areas largely Russian in Ukrainian territory leaves the 800 lb elephant out of the equation, you want to make an area largely anything, deport, murder… the indigenous people, move yours in and there you go.

The soviets were very good at this, US did it to the indians(though they were pretty good at it within themselves before the Europeans showed up just check out the black hills and who controlled over time)

One of many arguments they make that don’t hold water when looked at realistically

The idea that where someone lives immediately disqualifies them from commenting on FR is quite fascinating.

Ya know FR is supposed to be about free speech and debate, but I guess not if you live in Spain….

Amazing
