What’s the deal with blacks and swimming?
Every single white person I know can swim.
Racism and climate change.
I’ve always said the best way to survive a racial war in the US is to spend your summers swimming and sailing and spend your winters skiing.
Its a very minimalist DEI lifestyle.
Here near Seattle, the "narrative" is that black adults (boomer generation) could not afford country clubs to learn to swim, so their kids and now the present black youth all have a fear of water and did not learn to swim.
As a sidebar - growing up in WA state in the 50's, it was manditory to show some swimming proficiancy to graduate from high school. In grades 3 to 5, all had school sponsored swimming lessons (part of the water proofing of a generation that has so much water around us).
I think that black people have more muscle and less body fat, JMHO. Body fat - buouncy. Also, they are less likely to have swimming lessons when young, for whatever reasons.
Seems like more blacks are non swimmers as adults.
IMHO, there should be a push to teach all youngsters to swim.
As former LA Dodger GM summarized it 35 years ago on Nightline: They lack the buoyancy. He became the first American to be cancelled.
