I doubt this story but if true I will have abundant meat in my home. I have about 20 deer on my property, I live on a few acres in the countryside. I could harvest 5 a year and have abundant meat and the herd would remain healthy and reproduce.

I and my neighbor have been doing this for years. We ethically hunt them, you do not pull the trigger unless it is an assured kill shot. A .223 caliber is legal here in Texas to hunt deer. My neighbor the hunter opted for a .308 as it is a sure kill. All shots are less than 100 yards and thus a quick clean kill is assured. We hate hunters that take a “maybe kill shot.” That is unethical.

We process the meat ourselves to very high standards. It is delicious.

I recently put up a security camera system..

So far I just installed the one at the front porch but I have
seen groups of deer in the front yard eating grass in the morning.

The back yard is full of them in the morning, I should run a livestream on youtube :-)

The Forestry service put an automatic waterer for wild game in my field and they come for that fresh water.

I’d sure hate to shoot one for food but I guess if I had to....
