[Most Chrysler products are like that]

Particularly since they were in bed with Benz.

The Makani Kai Air Cessna Grand Caravan engine involved in the Fuddy ditching was not the engine registered to have been mounted on that aircraft (N687MA). That day the craft was therefore NOT AIRWORTHY.

Makani Kai Air had already gotten itself in hot water with the authorities, having been charged with flying unauthorized commercial routes. They stood to have to pay ~$600k in fines, but when the fines were finally adjudicated (post-ditching, no less!), the FAA powers that be allowed that number "somehow" to turn into ~$40k!

The engine on the craft that day (and the months before) was a Pratt and Whitney Canada PT6-140a. So Chrysler was not involved in the Fuddy Hoax at all.
