Immature children. You can go without food for weeks, months, perhaps even longer if you are obese.

Water is another matter altogether.

Back in the day, we were told an otherwise healthy human can go for 40 days without food, before starvation sets in. Three days without water depending on the outside climate and required physical exertion.

Dunno what they say these days. Back then they also told us to slice open a snake bite wound and suck out the poison. I guess some people were inadvertently opening arteries, cause "slicing and dicing" is not longer recommended.
