That’s right. The headline and the story are red herrings. Divisive. They want people fighting over their lack of singing
That’s dumb
It’s the eye rolling lack of putting their hands over their hearts
They’re disrespecting the flag which represents the republic. The constitution
The constitution does not allow for the oppression they’re whining about so their protest is ignorant. They don’t read the constitution. They are ignorant of whatever they’re attempting to state. It’s mob thinking. It’s unprofessional. It is moot. It’s a cow’s opinion.
No one has to sing the anthem.
Plenty of other reasons to despise the women’s team. And I say this as one who used to enjoy watching them back during the Mia Hamm era.
Of course no one has to sing the anthem, and of course athletes don’t always sing.
HOWEVER, if the whole US women’s soccer team normally sings but half of them chose not to sing this time, then it’s likely they were doing some kind of protest. And it’s not unreasonable for people to respond to that.
