Folding@home (FAH or F@h) is a distributed computing project for simulating protein dynamics, including the process of protein folding and the movements of proteins implicated in a variety of diseases. It brings together citizen scientists who volunteer to run simulations of protein dynamics on their personal computers and scientific researchers. Insights from these data are helping scientists to better understand biology and providing new opportunities for developing therapeutics.
Folding does NOT affect your computer's performance as it only runs on unused clock cycles that would otherwise be lost. I can run VERY demanding computer games without a touch of lag while folding almost 13 million points a day.

The Free Republic Folding at Home team was formed as a tribute to Ronald Reagan. I am currently the leading folder on the team. I am currently ranked 569 of 2,968,070 overall on the project. Since I got a new computer on May 5th I have risen about 300 places on the list.
