My family had long life genetics. Great grandmother was 107, grandmother 101, but my mother made poor life choices and passed at 79. Buying Mercola’s snake oil was one of those poor choices.

I am not blessed with the sort of longevity that exists on the female side of your family. In my case, my great grandmothers died between 1898 and 1923. In other words, they were not the beneficiaries of modern medicine. Your great-grandmother and possibly grandmother lived beyond 100 before modern medicine. We don't fully why some people live as long as they do, e.g. Jack LaLanne vs. Tony Bennett both lived to 96, despite very different lifestyles. Your mother may have erred in using Mercola’s products vs. prescribed blood thinners. However, you also said she made other lifestyle choices that were not the best
