It was easy to see she had mental problems.
Losing a child by suicide would completely destroy me.. I think it destroyed her... sad
She ripped up a picture of the best pope of the last century and called him the real enemy. This was long before her child ever committed suicide.
I lost a daughter a couple years ago to COVID, and I can say that it is indeed the most painful experience I have ever had. I certainly have a great deal of sympathy for O'Connor, having lost her son such a short time ago.
For me, though, having an enduring faith through Christ, and belonging to the Catholic Church, I was warmly embraced by so many, and found comfort in the words of the Lord. While I continue to suffer many moments of isolation and sadness, I know that I am loved, not only here on earth, but by my creator.
I am struck by how religion did not give O'Connor any peace, though she clearly had a yearning. All I can say is that she is with God, now, and may He hold her warmly in His loving arms.
I’m not suicidal, thanks to the love and support of my 2 daughters, husband, and 3 grandchildren, but all the plans I had for the remainder of my life now seem silly and frivolous. For the first time in my adult, I welcome death, if only to see my beloved son again.
Do you not remeber she tore up a big photo of POPE JOHN PAUL II on SNL??? THAT SHOWED SHE WAS NUTS!
