I have scud run much of Florida. Not so much in Tennessee. I do have a seaplane rating and that kind of flying in a PA-18 is pretty much follow the rivers and coast. Completely different operations.

I prefer to travel from 2200 to sunrise. The air is more calm at lower enroute airways, and the ATC Centers are much more personable and not hurried. Never holds and they usually skip STARs and just vector you to intercept ILS.

One does not desire to fly a seaplane at night. Everything is about reading the water surface. Hard to do at night.
