Cmdr David Fravor's wingman was a woman pilot. Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich was a first rate pilot who was most certainly not a "diversity hire."
To answer your question. I think it has been about 50 years now.
Just because they are women doesn't mean they are morons. With the recent Woke Movement having taken over the military, that might have changed. Still, morons don't do well flying jets off carriers.
