If the US paid for the lab, it’s our lab wether we call it ours or not.
The money flowing behind the lack of "legal liability" has been enormous.
The pretense that this is "Biosurveillance" is ludicrous, and intended for the average and very gullible Joe. Any real outbreak of a massively deadly plague would happen LONG before a "biosurveillance" lab were able to detect, analyse and have an actual defense for it. But think this through.
Among the very virulent disease already known, Ebola does not spread as the doomsayers predict (and then seek money and more money for). It is virulent enough to essentially stop itself in its outbreaks because of human behavior and more.
What then is DoD doing funding this stuff? It is looking FOR a manageable bio-agent to act somehow against an enemy after we have created an antidote for ourselves (or some small portion of ourselves). That the law frowns on this is of no interest to the true believers in OFFENSIVE bio-weapons.
That Spanish flu? Many, many deaths from secondary infections. Covid with its 0.087 percent mortality rate? Deaths now being alleged courtesy of remdesivir, suppression of other medications and of course anethesia-delived ventilation. Government at work, for the profit of the few.
