Sounds like you condone the officer’s obviously illegal conduct. You can’t track down and beat someone because they flip you off. Surprised that has to be pointed out to you.

There is case law. Middle finger is free speech.

Agreed. Cop was in the wrong when he pummeled the gaytrans. But don’t people, trans or otherwise, even consider that someone might have a breaking point leading to something like that?

The cop should be fired, booked and sentenced but at the end of the day the gaytrans guy got his ass handed to him. Like Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face.

Not casting judgement on the incident but if you give me the finger and I'm in walking distance of you, I'm gonna knock you on your ass.

That's called old school respect........

School yourself on "The Big Four" who used to patrol the streets of Detroit in the 1960's. That's when I grew up and that's when people respected the law enforcement.......

As a side note, my dad was a cop then as was my grandfather........

You opine on this without laying down some background.

If the officer was in pursuit because of disrespectful actions (not just words) of the tranny, for the purpose of fully re-establishing recognition of his (her) authority, it was not unlawful to do so.

When disrespect and undercutting of the command of a situation is signaled by offensive motions, it is within the purview of the enforcer to apprehend and reprimand the offender's defiant attitude. When confronted, it would probably would have been wise to apologize with an attitude of full compliance.

If the offender's own lack of reasonable humility forces him/her to escalate the defiance, most certainly the LEO will ordinarily respond by escalating force until it is obeyed, however unwillingly on the part of the mocker.

I'm surprised that this has to be brought to your attention for meditation.

Some supervisor or judge is going to want to hear the full story before delivering an opinion as to whether the LEO's actions were justified. But lacking the whole story, my bet is for the LEO, not the person signaling oppositional defiance to the law.

Ia am a law-abiding citizen, and in full support of its authority to maintain peace and responsibility for one's actions. The Bible has given me plain, clear, unarguable commands from God regarding such a situation:

1 Peter 2:13-6 (AV):

13Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
15For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.
------------

Romans 13:1-6 (AV; bolding added for emphasis):

1Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
2Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation
3For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the powerLaw Enforcement Officer? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
4For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
5Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
6For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
We have special circumstances now that the "wokers" and Antifas and "peaceful protesters" and "defund police" and "SJ" agitators and agitatoresses are now taking possession of the public stage without being summarily chased off by determined groups of Constitutionalist conservative peacemakers.

Of which these are you a consituent?

Just askin' and advisin'.

In a civilized society, you certainly can.
