After several used beaters, including a rusted out Gremlin, I finally save up enough for a down payment on a new stripped down 1979 Ford Fairmont. $3688.00 sticker price, and with $700 down my payments were $92.00 per months for four years. Didn't even have a radio. Had to find one at a junk yard for $10.00 and figure out how to install it and speakers. Oh, yeah, it was a three-on-the-floor. Had to change the clutch after three years. It looked a lot like this one, same color.
