Yes, I remember those days. They used to have white colored train cars that hauled nukes into the Bangor Trident Base, now called Naval Base Kitsap. The single rail spur had a group of commies, I cannot remember what they called themselves, led by a public elementary school teacher in Silverdale that had a house used to monitor the train traffic and would mobilize people to sit on the tracks delaying the trains progress.
The Navy got tired of it and started trucking the nukes in, it really pissed the commies off. They tried blocking the entrance to the Subbase Bangor several times after that but that didn’t work out so well. I haven’t heard anything about them for awhile now. They probably died from hep C or some other Hippie ailment.
Many many moons ago I resided in Boise. The news would keep up with these protesters attempting to block the tracks so a particular nuke train would stop.....
Surprise! The train slowed however didn’t stop. One of the protesters who had laid on the tracks was separated from his legs.
