The 1958 book by Cleon Skousen, The Naked Communist, set forth 45 goals communists need to achieve to take over the United States without firing a shot. On January 10, 1963 those goals were read into the Congressional Record by Congressman Albert S. Herlong Jr. In 1984, a KGB defector named Yuri Alexandrovich Bezmenov reiterated those goals in an extensive interview. He stated that there were agents in the United States in leadership positions who were bringing those goals to fruition.
