There may be a push toward the ‘free’ deal in European colleges, but they have three different aspects: European colleges don’t have worthless degrees, European colleges tend not to overstaff with excess employees, and if you can’t handle the requirements...they tend to dump you real quick.
European universities are not stuffed full of administrators for things like DEI, CRT, etc etc. Just look at the explosion in administrators at universities in the US over the last 40 years. These are usually 6 figure jobs too.

Obviously the same with Russian/Chinese colleges, and one of the reasons that raw GNP comparisons between our countries (as some geniuses here keep using) are of little value, as raw GNP considers our useless colleges as ‘contributing’ to our GNP, whereas in just about every other country, most of their college-aged people (except for the smart ones) actually learn useful skills and quickly enter the workforce.
