Country music star Jason Aldean sparks controversy with new song 'Try That in a Small Town' - which dares BLM and social justice warriors to riot in the rural South

Country music star Jason Aldean sparked controversy with his new hit song 'Try That in a Small Town', which slams left wing antagonists for antics that wouldn't fly in the South.

Aldean, 46, released the gun-toting, anti-woke song Friday, just days before he suffered a severe heatstroke on stage in Hartford, Connecticut.

But the singer is facing the heat again for his latest track, which interlaced clips of BLM protestors vandalizing cities with lyrics endorsing traditional values and 'taking care of our own.'

Aldean opens the song: 'Cuss out a cop, spit in his face. Stomp on the flag and light it up. Yeah, ya think you're tough? Try that in a small town.'

The music video was met with backlash among some who felt the lyrics were dog-whistles intended to offend, while others saw it as a commentary on America's sharp divides.

Aldean's newest hit takes aim at woke activists for acting 'a fool', particularly condemning the series of BLM protests that sprung up across America following the police-killing of George Floyd in 2020.

The riots resulted in billions of dollars in damage and led to questions over why such a large number of people were willing to break the law, with Aldean feeling the unrest was due to people not being 'raised right'.

'Sucker punch somebody on a sidewalk, carjack an old lady at a red light,' he sings. 'Pull a gun on the owner of a liquor store - ya think it's cool, well, act a fool.

'See how far ya make it down the road. Around here, we take care of our own. You cross that line, it won't take long for you to find out - I recommend you don't try that in a small town.'

The folks whining about it and getting the video pulled have created more publicity for Aldean and his song than he ever would have otherwise.

It's gone straight to Number One on iTunes.

My favorite Aldean song was one he did about ten years ago called "Flyover States" - also a theme of big city folk having disdain for the small towns across America.

Don’t mess with rural Texas.

Complete opposite of the cities.

While I don't live in a small town if they were to come in our rural area we would welcome them with "open arms"...if you know what I mean.
