911/cold water: I should have expounded a bit more. Our local guys are instructed to receive a 911 call with “Name and location? and what is the emergency?” They don’t hang up if that doesn’t come thru as in the case of distress, poor comms, etc. As soon as they get that location they are hitting buttons to get people moving.
Curious about that Obama water. By all accounts the puddle in question is not ocean or even salt water. The recent weather the NW has had most likely cooled off any ponds, puddles, lagoons, etc. Ground water that is not circulated tends to be just above 55 degrees. My own pond , which is shaded East and West to help the fish keep cool, never gets above 58 degrees. Unless there is something about Obozo’s pond that is not obvious from here, it’s a chilly sumbish. I guess others can decides whether that’s cold enough for a southern boy to wear a wet suit?
