In the 1980s an airliner crashed into a Potomac River bridge in DC only a few minutes after takeoff. Howard Stern, who was a jock on a DC radio station at the time, called the airline's reservations desk...while on the air...and asked how much a ticket from National Airport to the 17th Street Bridge cost.

Talk about punk!

I recall him asking the airline if that bridge was going to be a regular stop for them now.

I thought it was The Greaseman - Doug Tracht that did that?

Equal Opportunity Offenders

This says Howard Stern made the airline call, but it mentions Doug Tracht quite a bit, and even Rush Limbaugh a little.

Tracht got fired for being racist.

I nev4er voluntarily listened to Stern, but the school bus drivers often had it on.

Whenever the read the news and there was a crime story with a Spanish or what they perceived to be black name, he and his team would shout "guilty."

And I remember in the 80s him saying Mother Teresa molested children.

My favorite was after a mob hit in an NYC steakhouse Stern called up and made a reservation for dinner. As the reservation was being read back by the restaurant worker, Stern added "Oh! can you make that in the NO shooting section!"
