US Surface Temperature | June 2023 | -0.38 degrees F | Compared To 18 Year Average
Watts Up With That ^ | 17 July 2023

Data is from the US Climate Reference Network - The USCRN is the most pristine land based temperature system in the world - The decline from average was NOT expected - The two previous months showed substantially higher than average temps, most likely because a new El Nino current has begun in the Pacific Ocean - USCRN data collection began in 2005, and the chart in Comment #1 shows that USA land temperatures have been flat to slightly down over the last 18 years

Re: "18 years as a standard seems odd."

The system was completed and first operational in 2005.

The scientific standard for a temperature average is 30 years, so USCRN data is not currently recognized as prime and reliable.

It is also unclear from the website if the entire data base includes or excludes Alaska and Hawaii - which could make a significant difference.

Regardless, the data gathering land sites are universally recognized as the most pristine in the world.

Re: "Ocean walls"

Within the last five years, both Bill Gates and Barack Obama have purchased ocean front homes!

That might be the only evidence we need...

Great chart, Openurmind...

I do not recall seeing the interglacial data expressed like that before.

I knew some interglacials were warmer in the past.

I also did not realize that our most recent glacial was colder than the previous three glacials.

Thanks for adding a rock solid visual imprint to all the random temperatures that are floating around in my memory!

My wife just went and visited some friends in Cleveland. It sounds like it was quite pleasant.

“I also did not realize that our most recent glacial was colder than the previous three glacials.”

Yep, they have been hiding the long term facts all along. They try to limit the data to from only the last iceage. THIS is what they need to be called out on because this chart is from THEIR OWN DATA and science.

I was trying to find the one that shows the same but it also shows the corresponding CO2 levels. They were also much much higher during the past warmer interglacials.

But that one, which came from NOAA it’s self has been scrubbed from the net. Wait...

Found one that is “close” to what I wanted...

Not sure I like your new chart as much as I liked the first one.

Please note the thin yellow CO2 spike line on the extreme right side of the chart.

Current CO2 level is actually much higher - about 420 ppm.

The CO2 maximum for the previous eight inter-glacials topped out at 300 ppm, and was 275 ppm or lower in the other seven.

However, the current inter-glacial temperature anomaly is still below several previous inter-glacials, so, perhaps we are witnessing the "disconnect" of CO2 and higher temps?

I saw that too. It is not honest. Most of the honest ones have now been removed like the one I was first looking for. They show the CO2 was actually much higher during the interglacial before this last glacial. It was hotter the interglacial before, and the CO2 was higher to correspond with that much hotter period.

I have it on my computer but I do not use 3rd party image services so I cannot share here. I will keep looking... :)

Thanks, Openurmind.

Please do not go to a lot of trouble on this.

Your first chart made my day.

Like being on the front line when the ammunition truck pulls up!

Here it is, but the resolution has purposely been disrupted. But it is more accurate with solar isolation, temps, and CO2 based on true ice core samples.

https://scioly.org/wiki/index.php/File:DP_Interglacial_Periods.gif

It was originally on this NOAA page and they took it off. Wait... In looking again I found an archived page in PDF.

https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/2021-11/1%20Glacial-Interglacial%20Cycles-Final-OCT%202021.pdf

Note the solar insolation started to decrease about 8,000 years ago. Which indicates we are about to head colder just like all the previous glacials they have on here, it is undeniable based on the ice core records. By the records the earth has been in an ice age 80% of it’s life.

So yes, in the long term we are going into an ice age, just as we always have and there is no amount of CO2 going to stop it. They are setting us up for extinction by claiming warming. We can already see the temp trend down from normal.

We are going to NEED MORE warming soon...

No problem, it is important to me to share the real facts to debunk the criminal fraud. Folks are dying because of their lies. :)

Thanks...

I get almost 100% of my Climate news at Watts Up With That.

Speaking of 100%...

Almost every Climate Skeptic professor in the USA and Europe is retired!

The Climate Fanatics scare all these guys into total silence when they are still pulling down a pay check.

The two bravest professors in the USA are the two University of Alabama at Huntsville guys who publish their own satellite temperature data every month.

Both of them are past retirement age, but are still cranking out their own numbers and interpretations.
