You are probably right about early walking to beat the heat. The bad news is that alligators tend to be nocturnal, sunbathing and snoozing during the day, hunting for elderly northern immigrants come nightfall.
Die by heat stroke, alligators, poisonous snakes, spiders and other various “wildlife” in Florida? That’s a big reason we left and moved to Alaska. Now I only have to worry about freezing to death (would be peaceful), bear attack (would be swift). Just sayin.
Had a bad rainstorm one night, went out to the truck the next morning, gator hiding in the puddle.
