Didn’t Elvis die on the toilet also? Very sad.
She was killed by her medical care, in this care a surgery for weight loss.
I didn’t know she’d had bariatric surgery. Was it announced at the time? Kept secret?
Weight loss surgery is a killer
Geez, go to the doctor. Alas, RIP.
Opioids mess up one’s bowels as well.
I saw her at an awards show for the new Elvis movie several days before her death. She was out of it on drugs.
That’s a bad way to go. A friend of ours died from a blockage in her intestines. She went to the doctor and he just gave her some medicine. It continued to worsen and ruptured. This was many years ago, so hopefully treatment has improved.
NBC News obtained the autopsy report, but hasn't published it in its entirety.
Secondly, CoupFlu vaxxes have been linked to adverse GI events, some severe.
Trust but verify
The story says she ignored symptoms for months. I presume the problem would have been corrected, probably easily, had she gone to a doc.
Lothian isn’t like a stroke or a heart attack where people who ignore symptoms are at risk of suddenly keeling over dead. Stomach pains, nausea, vomiting, etc. Usually provide considerable warning. I wonder how severe her symptoms were.
I’ve known a couple of people who went from minor infection to dead in three days, but even they got to a doc, although too late.
Same thing killed that little girl actress in “Poltergeist”, and also one of the Bee Gees brothers............
Yeah, Elvis had a congenital bowel condition that was made worse by his addiction to prescription opioids. His autopsy named that as a contributing factor in his death.
Two thoughts:
A) Seems like an unpleasant way to go.
B) Hard to imagine having any “bowel obstruction” and then describing it as “small” — especially if it is severe enough to kill me.
Two that I am aware of......................
It’s confounding why she didn’t go to the ER during one of her episodes. I had a small bowel obstruction earlier this year and it was intensely, horribly painful. After vomiting a ridiculous amount of bile for the second time I called 911.
I wonder if she was on painkillers or other opiates that dulled the pain.
Mabey or maybe not.
“I presume the problem would have been corrected, probably easily, had she gone to a doc.”
No, more surgery would probably have been needed. But you are correct that it’s unwise to ignore symptoms.
