Today we will tell you about the story of a strong woman who has lived for her country since her childhood and is now raining bullets with her machine gun at the front. Since the beginning of the occupation, brave Ukrainian women have been picking up their weapons, running to the front and fighting heroically. In fact, this motivation started during the occupation of Crimea.
After the illegal occupation of Crimea, the awakened consciousness manifested itself on the battlefields with the last invasion of Russia. Women who do not submit to the occupation of their country have been fighting bravely ever since.
Our heroine we will tell you today is Oksana Rubaniak. Oksana is a young girl who was influenced by her uncle’s war memories and strived for her country from an early age. These efforts brought her to military school and from there to the machine gun unit.
Let’s start her story. On 24 February 2022, Oksana was at home. The owner of the flat she rented ran to her and said, “Oksana, wake up, the war has begun”. At first Oksana thought it was a dream, but the siren sounds that woke her up announced that the war had started. And the day had come. Now, for Oksana, the defense of the homeland began at the front.
The deadliest Soviet sniper in WW2 was Ukrainian born Lyudmila Pavlichenko. She had over 300 confirmed kills in less than a year of combat, 36 of which were enemy snipers.
