Supply lines are of great importance in terms of making inferences about the future of a war. One of the most striking elements when it comes to supply lines is bridges. As we have seen in many wars, bridges are bombed or destroyed to cut off supply lines. The side that protects the supply line always has the upper hand. A bridge in a very strategic position in the Russian-Ukrainian war has been frequently mentioned by many sources in recent days.

In fact, this bridge is not a supply line. However, it is of great importance because it provides access to Crimea, which has an important place in the Ukrainian army’s war plan. The bridge we are talking about is the Antonivskiy bridge on the eastern side of Kherson. The recent successes of the Ukrainian army in and around the bridge have thrown the Russian staff into a great panic. So what are the latest developments in the region? Let’s take a look at the latest situation.

The crossing to the eastern side of Kherson is a historic threshold for the Ukrainian army. The Dnipro River, which was a natural barrier between Ukrainian troops and Russian troops, was thus disabled. The Russian army’s biggest trump card in the region was the defensive advantage that the Dnipro River provided to Russian troops. However, this advantage disappeared when Ukrainian troops captured the eastern side of the Antonivskiy bridge.

Russia naturally wants to regain this advantage. The most important goal of the Russian troops in the region at the moment is to clear Ukrainian troops from their positions around the Antonivskiy bridge. However, it is not possible to say that Russia has come close to this goal so far. Although the Russian army is trying to achieve this goal, its moves are only causing ammunition losses.

The bridge is geographically located in a very strategic position. The elevation where the eastern leg of the Antonivskiy bridge is located seems to allow the Ukrainian army to establish its dominance over the Dnipro river.

As you may recall from our previous reports, the eastern bank of the Dnipro River is very important. Because this is the closest point where Ukrainian troops are to the Crimean peninsula. Therefore, we can say that the fear of losing Crimea is behind the Russian effort here.

On the Kupiansk front, members of the 32nd Separate Mechanised Brigade of Ukraine have destroyed an ammunition storage point. They killed nine and injured more than 40 soldiers of the Russian occupation forces during the day.

DETAILS: Reportedly, in some areas of the front, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have gained a foothold on positions previously occupied by the Russians.

NOTE: The 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade is one of the new mechanized formations of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that were formed in 2022-2023 as part of the buildup of the Armed Forces of Ukraine prior to the counteroffensive.

The 32nd Brigade is currently holding the defence on the Kupiansk front.

While there is no earthshaking news from the NATO summit, there is good news. The talk in public is not what happens behind the scenes or long term. There was no way Ukraine would get fast tracked into NATO when it would automatically invoke Article 5. So there is no surprise there.

The good news is Turkey finally agreed to allow Sweden to join NATO, while telling Russia the grain deal to ship Ukrainian grain is still on. Now that Finland and Sweden are NATO members, the Baltic Sea effectively belongs to NATO. NATO members are reworking their long term defense plans, including procurement. Europe is dusting off plans and working up to the Russian threat. Aid to Ukraine is not slowing down.

Ukraine's offensive is moving slow. This was never going to repeat Kharkiv or Kherson. Ukraine is keeping quiet and letting the Russia narrative run the field. The Russia camp is still talking about the same destroyed Leopards and Bradleys from three weeks ago. That means the Russian losses are several times higher. From Operator Starsky:

I read a few days ago that Z was told no NATO and was furious. He didn’t want to go to the summit but was forced, and that he would be offered a protection deal similar to the one the US has with Israel, and that they would make it look like a success due to his statesmanship.

History though has proven that “neutrality” is always helping one side a bit more than the other side...

Edmund Burke (presumably) once said : “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”

Today we can say: “The only thing necessary for the triumph of the Russian invasion of Ukraine is for good men to remain neutral”.

Neutrality means doing nothing. That only helps Russia.

Sweden believed in that philosophy of neutrality for 200 years. According to polls Sweden was the most anti-NATO country in whole Europe...

...until Putin came along and decided to wreak havoc with a massive invasion of a sovereign country called Ukraine.
What did the Swedish people think about that unthinkable invasion? Well... two thirds of the swedes are now pro-NATO (+66%!) and Sweden has now just been accepted as a new NATO member!

This is a REVOLUTION in Sweden!

Putin, with his completely insane act of imperialistic piratery of Ukraine’s resources, has transformed the common swedish citizens psych down to the core!

The swedes gave up 200 years of neutrality because of Putin’s folly. They understood, that neutrality in this Ukraina war has indirectly become a russian weapon.

Russia has been spewing Anti-American and anti Western propaganda for ages, long before the Ukraine war.

That’s why I’m not against any efforts here on FR acting like “fire-walls” to somewhat counter-balance the propaganda Russia is drowning us with.

A number of Russians here on FR are good at “fanning the flames” concerning the sain competition between Republican candidates for example. To divide us.

Russia did also participate in manipulating liberal media in exacerbating the race-war that went on during the “Summer of Love” period in America - which destroyed 110 inner cities.

Kremlin-people are chess-players. Their art has always been to deceive, disinform, divide, while pretending to be the victims! It’s an effective weapon against non-autocratic countries. And now they are attacking our allies with military might.

We shall not fall for it.

There is... one more thing:

America has signed the Budapest memorandum agreement in 1994, assuring Ukraine protection against any Russian violation of Its border and sovereignty. In return Ukraine gave up all their nuclear ballistic weapons they had. They kept their word to America and did what they promised, thus America must now ALSO keep its word towards Ukraine by helping it to defend itself. Its morality.
The deal has been signed.
