That way ICE cars will have the same range as EV.

It’s not the gas tax that will kill the ICE; it’s the wholesale disappearance of gas stations to fuel them.
The corrupt gov’t eco-rat filth will make gas so prohibitively expensive to produce, that stations will close by the thousands.
