I love following people who are thru hiking the PCT, CDT and AT attempting to earn the Triple Crown of hiking.
This past winter was an especially heavy snow year on the PCT and CDT, meaning the three hikers were covered in heavy snow for several months.
I don’t believe the article indicted that anyone reported 3 missing hikers, which would narrow down when the hikers entered that area.
It’s also hard to believe three hikers went into that area without a Garmin or some other device that would send out a distress signal indicating their location and what trouble they were in.
Plus, with cellular technology and devices from Garmin and other companies, it’s hard to understand how you could get that lost, unless you went into the wilderness without any such device which in this day and age would be foolish.
Plenty of foolishness to go around.
