We win on the battlefield, politically we withdraw.
There isn’t a nation on earth that wouldn’t prefer to have the war-fighting ability and reach we possess rather than their own, and when NATO is involved, that American war machine is combined with the Armies, Air forces, Navies, and geography of the other 30 (31) nations.
When I was on Active Duty, my “mentor”, I suppose I should call him, was a General Officer who had just been placed in Command at Walter Reed. He begged me to stay on Active Duty, even gave me a coin (I never was a “coin collector so I have only a few, this one, a CSGM of the Army at his retirement (he’d been a good friend and a patient) and a couple other “atta boys”). I watched as TPTB trashed his career over the conditions of the Visiting BOQ that wasn’t even ON Walter Reed property.
