Smart man.
Apparently a douchebag of a man. They may both be douchebags. Or maybe not, but his own story implies he is no angel without directly saying so.
I would like to know what was on his phone before passing judgement on the woman’s alleged reaction to it. I doubt it was evidence of him innocently shopping for lawn mower parts. Maybe she found kiddie porn on his phone, or regular porn, or texts to a lover that wasn’t her. We don’t know from the article. Or maybe she is a paranoid schizophrenic and was looking for a evidence of an imaginary affair when she took something on his phone completely out of context.
Or maybe that phone business was just something he made up, because it sounded better than what actually started the fight. Did he explain what innocent thing was on his phone that she took the wrong way? I don’t think so.
She left the premises, rather than him leaving, so who sounds more afraid of a fight? And if she had a machete, why leave it with him rather than put it somewhere he can’t get to, before heading out to police station?
People set each other up all the time, and the biggest abusers, the habitual gaslighters, use technicalities of the law to their advantage, waiting for a chance to use it against someone they have been provoking for months in hopes of get a reaction they can use to get sympathy, often a recording of the spouse who has finally gotten fed up and angry. The gaslighters is almost always the first to call the cops precisely because the gaslighters was producing and managing the theatrics from the beginning and know just when is the opportune time.
Heard too many people bragging about how they set their spouses up to just assume things are as claimed in just one news report. Better not to pass judgement until both sides are heard.
