China's Mini electric car Zhidou A01 appeared in the Vietnamese market, priced at more than 100 million dong, if officially sold at this price, it will likely be sought after by many people.
Recently, within the framework of Autotech & Accessories Exhibition 2023 taking place in Ho Chi Minh City. Zhidou electric car brand from China suddenly appeared and introduced to Vietnamese consumers a small electric car called Zhidou A01.
As revealed by the car company, Zhidou A01 will be changed logo and brand name to suit Vietnamese users.
In addition, the automaker is also cooperating with domestic enterprises to assemble in Vietnam, creating favorable conditions for the product supply process as well as the accompanying ancillary services later on. more convenient. The Chinese automaker has also planned to build a nationwide public charging station system.
As expected, Zhidou A01 will be officially opened for sale in about 3 months and the car price will be more than 100 million VND.
Zhidou A01 is a small car model, suitable for users who need to move flexibly in urban areas, contributing to the protection of a greener living environment.
The car has an overall length x width x height of 2,500 x 1,202 x 1,625, respectively, and a wheelbase of 1,030 mm. With this size, the appearance of Zhidou A01 is considered to be smaller than the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV and Vinfast VF3 electric cars that will be launched in Vietnam in the near future.

100 million dong is the Vietnamese price. Supposedly in three months.
I believe that converts roughly to $4,700.
See the article for pictures. Please note there will be minor changes to the design and styling, in the three months until final release.
Pics from the article:
I think the top speed, is more in line with a small car.
Sure it is not real fast, but I may be looking at this as possible.
Roads here are not real hi-speed.
😎
Should be a hit on the autobahn.
Have a tricycle (electric) with a tiny half-top, so this will be VASTLY better than that in the rain, with much better security, and much better range.

Dong, where is Grandpa’s Zhidou A01??
Well hope it works out
Does Vietnam have the electric infrastructure to support this?
When I look at that car, it conjures up images of a splatted June bug on the front grill of a semi-truck.......
That is still an issue, but should be changing soon.
At the moment VinFast has basically the only charging outlets. My current scooter can charge for a few miles back and forth, but only basically at home. With this and another small (car?) to be released in the next couple of months, and each of them also releasing their own charging systems, along with VinFast I think things will rapidly improve now.
All should have a range of at least 100 miles at minimum, so charging should rapidly improve now.
It will actually be largely replacing scooters, which are EVERYWHERE now, I strongly believe it will hugely improve safety.
Though it may make traffic and parking a BIG problem.
Lots, and lots, and lots of scooters here.
Lots.
This article is really giving the minicar a plug
I think this will really take off.
Everyone has been approaching the market from the standpoint of shrinking down and down. This is in my view is exactly how to approach Vietnam’s market … start tiny.
Three months.
Yugo....
I do have one request for the people designing these … or actually two.
ONE : include air conditioning. Immediately.
Maybe it will be off more than on, but when it is needed, it is NEEDED.
TWO : cruise control.
That is all 😎
Should go over as well as their other business ventures

How does the price of this car compare with how much scooters cost in Vietnam? Will enough people be able to afford it?
I think those are the result of one company planning badly.
Meanwhile, China is eating our lunch.
Everywhere. Don’t ever underestimate them.
Ever.
Vietnam is growing, quickly.
These are exactly what is needed. In my view.
The problem would be at the edges or margins, when somebody in a large pickup truck wants to park in a lot with small spaces designed for these little cars. Or when some idiot with a small car like this and a Biden bumper sticker wants to go on a real road with normal-sized vehicles.
