I read about about Aztecs and their practices. I am glad the Spaniards stopped their human/child sacrifices by force. I don’t know where Apocalypto was presented as taking place. The Aztecs were brutal beyond belief. Don’t want to go into it.
Yes they were. I'm also glad they're gone.
My quibble was in the romancing of murder by calling it sacrifice.
Sidenote(blatant name drop): I got to talk with Mel for a while after he shot that movie. I didn't know the name of the movie at that time but he said he had just gotten back from shooting in the jungle. He said he almost died from some disease there.
Always wise to remember a little grain of salt with that. The European colonizers wrote that chapter of the history books because there was no one left to tell the other side of the story.
I wonder how it would read if the Aztecs had repelled the Spaniards and written their own version.
