Mel Gibson’s 2006 film “Apocalypto” is about a class of ruling elite who kidnap and traffic human beings for ritual sacrifice until Christians put a stop to it.

I wonder if Mel was trying to tell us something…

Interesting. I had read somewhere that it was a flim against George W Bush and Iraq war. I didn’t see your theory of Christians stopping the trafficking. For me what I got out of the film was more the hero’s journey to escape nightmare and get home to his family. End scene if I recall was of hero and wife glimpsing new ship in water near their home meaning new nightmare. But do you see something different?

I just read wiki’s take on it, and it doesn’t seem to be what JulinasRum says it’s about.
