Come to think of it, in those days two unrelated, white-haired, adult men could befriend and mentor two little boys. Boys were allowed to find men to emulate and learn from, if their dads were gone.

Yabbutttt... back in -that- day, older men who wanted to sexually groom the vulnerable underaged (of whichever sex) almost HAD to simultaneously befriend and be "mentoring" them... you know, for appearance's sake. Those hours after school... alone, you know... And it happened far more than people imagine, even back then... Don't ask me how I know about that.
