All six passengers aboard a small plane were killed in a fiery crash in Southern California early Saturday, marking the second deadly air wreck in the area this week.
Heavy fog blanketed the area, which may have caused the plane to miss the runway and land in the field several hundred yards away, reported KTLA.
“The airplane crashed short of French Valley Airport during its second approach around 4:15 a.m.,” a spokesperson for the National Transportation Safety Board told the outlet.

The elite love their two tiered air transit system.
At 4:00 AM.
Really have to wonder why a private plane was landing at 4:00 am in a fog. Sounds like four or five guys were desperate to get home. Would not be surpised if this flight originated in Las Vegas or Reno.
Piolet error... Apparently, it’s responsible for the majority of air crashes and mishaps.
The next time you’re flying try to make sure that the dude or dudette flying it is a piolet who can fly to and from an aircraft carrier... Or at the very least, is trained and taught to fly by the armed forces in some fashion.
And just how fiery does a crash have to be to attain the “fiery crash” label?
These propagandists will try to make you believe a one seater that landed too early, and ended nose first in water with only minor prop damage, was a scene from a michael bay film.
I want to be sure I have a pilot flying the plane. WTF is a piolet?
If the military pilot doesn’t have any tail wheel time he’s just an airborne bus driver!
FU you sick loser. I thought it was liberals who hate successful people and want them to die. Wrong, it’s failures of all stripes.
Name a current military aircraft with a tail wheel.
Went missed shoulda diverted to alternate. Get homeitis no doubt.
This airplane has two engines ... so if one of them fails, the other will get us to the scene of the crash faster.
Looks like it’s a tower less general aviation airport.
UH-60 Black Hawk.
AH-64 Apache.
You didn't specify fixed wing ...
I love me some FlightAware but I prefer Flightradar24.
Not a lot of good choices in Riverside. Aero Club no better, Corona maybe slightly better, but if you felt like you needed room you could always mayday Marsh AF, or call an audible and run for John Wayne.
Look at the FA data, lots of flying and experience with this airport. Overconfident, night, IMC.
Bad things always happen at 4 A.M. in a dense fog...
