Those assholes stole a bottle of very expensive rum from me years ago. It happened in either Killeen Texas or Denver Colorado. I suspect Denver.
OK, it was twenty years ago, but I left my purse in the security area in one of the London airports. Thankfully I had put my passport in a body belt and had a spare car key, but had to drive home 2 hrs with no license after landing in the US. The next day, a British airport worker phoned. They had found the purse; she quoted a figure to send it to me from London, and asked to remove that amount of cash from the purse to pay for sending it.
When the purse arrived, everything was still there: wallet, ID, keys, and an item of silver jewelry. I was absolutely astounded—then sad, at what USA had even by then become.
