Ditto. Saw Pete and the boys at Shea Stadium, Queens NYin October, 1982.

Local news crews interviewed Pete and Roger separately before the two concerts there (separately was the only way to do it because they deliberately had separate accomodations). Look for the interviews (as well as one of the two Shea concerts in its entirety) on YouTube. Roger was beyond frustrated and Pete a total drama queen.

Interesting factoid on that ‘82 tour. We put that show in Sun Devil Stadium, Tempe, AZ in 16 hours. Normally would take around 4 to 5 days. There was a football game the day/night before. We didn’t get the stadium until 11 PM that night. Insanity, never been done before. I & their production manager had to figure how to do it. Absolutely huge crew & forklifts running everywhere. We did it & opened the gates at 3 PM show day.

One of the reasons why “The Who” keep on doing live shows, is because many of the people they employ to help them would be financially devastated if they stopped. It is an odd situation to be in.
