“... that still doesn’t completely eliminate the possibility of counter intelligence by some other party.”

What’s the risk?
You send out people to make certain claims to congress about UFOS/AEPS/etcs that cannot be proven or disprove, so you’re not going to be held in contempt for lying, and even if they come back latter and recant or modify their story, it only adds to the muddying of the waters and helps the counter intelligence objectives.

The whistleblowers who are testifying before classified committees are taking significant risk. Careers may be lost, security clearances destroyed, and jail time will be in their future if they are lying before Congress.

In the case of the whistleblower a few weeks ago, he is a veteran of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) where he held the highest clearance possible. Grusch filed a whistleblower complaint with the U.S. Office of the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) in order to share classified information with the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence. He also filed a complaint alleging retaliation by his superiors over a similar complaint he made in 2021.

The ICIG found his complaint “credible and urgent” and advised Congress of this.
