Does Cuba have the right to have a Russian military base on its soil including nuclear armed missiles?

Is Kosovo a country?

Is the Monroe Doctrine no longer applicable?

Yes, it did.

This is where dodgy historical false comparisons and American / Russian exceptionalism falls down. Putinists, like American exceptionalists, think they’ve got a God given right to choose the security arrangements of their neighbors. No they don’t have that right.

Monroe doctrine. You said it.

USA (Batista) and USSR (Castro) interfering in Cuba was no more justifiable than Russia and NATO interfering in Ukraine. If you didn’t want Soviet nukes on Cuban soil, perhaps instead of backing the unelected Batista’s coup the USA should’ve backed the elected Socarrás.

If Cuba WANTED to host Soviet stuff on its soil,

Of course not. The US military fought in Europe in WWI and WWII and NATO was established.
