American patriotism remains near historic lows this Fourth of July

WASHINGTON (TND) — On this Fourth of July, the percentage of people who say they’re proud to be an American is near historic lows.

According to the results of a new Gallup poll, only 4 in 10 adults say they are “extremely proud to be an American.”

"I feel like it’s declined. Like, just wearing the flag sometimes I feel like it’s sometimes a little bit mixed-up feelings," said Daniel, a Washington, D.C. resident visiting the National Mall on the holiday.

Gallup's data shows Republicans are consistently more likely than Democrats and independents to express "extreme pride in being American," but Democrats are making a push to “reclaim the flag.”

Since 2019, Democrats' "extreme pride" has increased slightly as Republicans' dipped by 16 points.

I still love America but am disgusted with the mongrels that have seized control and what they're trying to do.

Are we supposed to think this decline is because of the Supreme Court’s rulings? It isn’t. It’s because the democrats have been working hard to increase the crime rate, to destroy freedom of thought, to force compliance with official dogma and to destroy the middle class.

I can't believe I spent 11 years active military, and then many years after that fighting for our rights on street corners with a bullhorn in hand, to watch this Republic crumble before my eyes.

I'm at the point of being stupefied watching this "Shining City on the Hill" go down. All because of the USA public buying into Political Correctness and now everything WOKE.

This is no longer a nation created by the brilliance of a bunch of old WHITE GUYS and copied the World over. Worse, this is no longer a nation worth fighting for less the true combat hardened make a stand. Not going to happen. This day makes me sad, but glad I lived through its best years (I'm 73).

Haven’t flown the flag on my house since the Pants Crapper-in-Chief was installed. That was after someone tore down the Trump 2020 flag I had on my house.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you, whatever we see today has been years in the making and I don’t see any meaningful changes for the better in the near future, if anything I expect for things to keep on deteriorating until finally something is going to blow. Whatever the cause it appears to be pretty well spread world wide, more in some place and less in others but something is brewing, but whatever it is doesn’t bode well. I am just glad I seen what I believe were some of the ‘better’ days and I don’t think we will ever see them again. I wish and hope with all my heart that Trump will regain the presidency but I am not holding my breath as there are forces in play which will do anything to prevent this from happening.

It was the best Fourth of July Parade ever in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. The patriotism, faith, God, Family, and heroes tributes on display were amazing. EVERYBODY stands for our police officers, military, first responders, sheriff's office, Search & Rescue teams, etc. Our local county sheriff is really loved by everybody and he got especially large applause. I don't think anybody stood or cheered for any government official including the city council, county commissioners and Congressman.

There was exactly ONE liberal unit, a small group of "Pro-Roe" people walking. One of them carried a Pride umbrella. The rest carried the usual rotten signs and got a smattering of boos, but were mostly ignored.

There was a great GOP float and there was NO DNC presence. None whatsoever.

There was one hilarious pair of floats I didn't get a picture of. The first one was a pickup truck with a big load of people run the bed. The sign on the side said "This is the size of government." That sign puzzled me until I saw the unit trailing the pickup truck.

It was a small ATV with the same sign lettering except it said "This is the size of our IDEAL government." It was beautiful.

Patriotism is still going strong on Balboa Island, Calif., located in Newport Harbor. Cables festooned with tiny American flags were stretched across the streets, boats were flying big American flags, and I even saw a group of young people in the street singing Lee Greenwood’s “I’m Proud to Be an American.”

I do feel sad for the young guns that will not see that again.

For anybody wondering, I doubt I had more than a few thousand bucks at any given time in that period, but my life was fun.

I will give a shout out to Trump for trying to get it back.

Same in Round Top, Texas today. Lots of America loving patriots there. The democrat party didn’t enter a float this year. Country folks there. American farmers and veterans.

Worry not—The Government is going to pull off some horrible event—kill many thousands of Americans and blame Ruzzia and evil Hitler-Putin for the act. Americans will be so angry after the “Sneak Attack” they will be flags everywhere and men and women clamoring to join the military. Biden will read a fiery speech before Congress as they declare War on Ruzzia, England and Canada will follow, along with Poland. Biden with War Powers. Will arrest Trump as a Putinista Agent. Rations established and a draft (for both Boys and Girl now). It will be great fun, with marching bands and all—until it isn’t.
