I don’t have a dog in the hunt but what difference does it make to this situation that the guy is (a) a dad or (b) stays at home?

Your therapist, at least twice a week would be better.

well a fence won't stop a cat....

my SIL likes to feed the birds except she also attracks rats, mice, raccoons, skunk, even a possum and this is in town...she puts out sugar cereal....they go crazy...

can't imagine what the neighbors think...

My wife’s uncle solved a bad feral cat problem in Price, UT many years ago. He and his neighbor sat in their back yards with .22 rifles. All the cats they culled got buried in their gardens. They had really nice gardens.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Vinnie Boombatz. It seems to help.
I even occasionally wear this shirt, as a sign of respect.

Unfortunately, leash laws don’t usually apply to cats. I suggest he start hosing them down and sprinkle repellent on his property. Cats (and some cat owners) are arrogant, but they’re not stupid. Having said that, we have a cat who likes to be outside. I would rather keep her in the house, but my husband coddles her. Even before he started letting her go outside, we had frequent cat visitors. Our cat is spayed, so I guess they just like to visit. Anyway, if someone wants to hose down our cat, more power to them. She needs to stay in her own yard or the vacant lot next door.

Where I live leash laws apply. There are no exceptions for cats.

Further if they are ferals there are laws about that as well.

Cats don’t defecate on lawns.

They dig a hole first, go in the hole and bury it.

Right. In your VEGETABLE garden! Yuk!

I had the problem once of neighborhood cats crapping in a flowerbed just outside my front door. I got a lot of ground cayenne pepper and applied it liberally to the area, a few ounces at a time. After a while, the cats learned to go somewhere else.

In this case, the guy should live-trap every cat he can and either take them to the pound or relocate them far away. We have five cats and they all stay indoors. I don’t shoot the few feral cats around here (no need, coyotes get them before long), but I do chase them out of our yard.

“Come one she’s a old woman with only her cats for company give her some peace and quiet, and keep your kids off her lawn.”

Living in an apartment for the first time in my life I can understand her wanting her peace and quiet. I can also understand her neighbors desire for a clean yard for his family to use.

What tips my support to her neighbor is the fact that cats aren’t the only things being fed. Because food is usually left out overnight rats, mice, squirrels, skunks, raccoons, foxes and larger predators like coyotes take the opportunity to slide by the late night buffet.

In the apartment complex I live in someone is constantly feeding the feral cats and we will become overrun by them. Then for some reason we can hear cats screaming at night and the population declines precipitously. The coyotes have returned. Then we have to call the city because the coyotes don’t leave, they just wait for more feral cats to be born.

Fences don’t keep cats out. If it were me, I’d start live catching them in my yard & turning them into the Humane Society.

Import some large snakes from Florida. They like cats.
If you can’t do that use moth balls. Cats hate them.
