It’s certainly an odd thing, but I don’t think such a novelty tells us anything about anything. And there’s no need to Trump up its strangeness: Drainage ditch” is more likely fairly described as “paved over seasonal creek.” Quite common in urban California, and I’d imagine it’s very cool to look down on rushing waters from the house. That said, not for me. Just too damned small. I see the space for a refrigerator holds an oven instead.

Gosh it would be a shame if the new buyer accidentally planted mandevilla and jasmine and clematis and yellow trumpet vines with hardy English ivy all along that canal. It would look like Holland in two years.
