It is kinda true. They even advertise hip, knee and shoulder replacement available for pickleball players. Of course it’s Florida where pickleball is very popular.

My wife is an orthopedic surgical PA. They're seeing a lot of elderly patients injured from pickleball. "Job security", and all that.
But it's not just the game that appeals to them. There's also socialization.
