[Myers and Ferrell] you’re right that they’ve been able to be more successful than Dana Carvey. Carvey had three serious heart surgeries in his 40s; plus he's been devoted to his role as a father to sons. No amount of fame is worth dying young and missing out of your kids' development.

That’s a classic too. I think he does that also in the video I posted above.
Funny how a lot of the late 80s SNL folks are conservatives, or at the very least, not flaming liberals: Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller, Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, and Dana Carvey, are the ones I know definitely fall in there. Then there was the late Norm MacDonald.

conservatives, or at the very least, not flaming liberals: Victoria Jackson, Dennis Miller, Rob Schneider, Jon Lovitz, and Dana Carvey... the late Norm MacDonald.Correct on all counts. And they were among the best performers on that show, which I watched every week from the first broadcast for the following 30 years, until the dread Obama years. Straight down the hopper. Unwatchable.

Nora Dunn and Jan Hooks weren’t conservative, and the other said they were difficult to get along with. Kevin Nealon was a lefty, but he didn’t like his act to be political. I’m not sure about Phil Hartman.

Here is an example of what old people do. Dana Carvey 68 years (SNL) and David Spade 58 years (SNL and 2 tv series).
You might recognize them from the 90's.
Note how the 2 old guys grew ragged beards and have unkempt long hair thinking they look young and hip.
They look like two homeless bums 😁
To think David Spade has had sex with all these women... He waits till they break up from a bad relationship then moves in...
